Gorgeous Day

The Brides invited us to the Bayou City Art Festival today. I was doing some editing that was interrupted by the migraine last week, and I wanted to get back to it, so Tom went without me. But the day was so beautiful that I didn’t want to be stuck inside. First, I spent some time outside with Margot, Guinness, Rex, and Sugar. I got a photo of Margot sunbathing that I really like:

Then I took my work to one of my favorite restaurants, Baba Yega, where I haven’t been in a long time. This was the view from my table:

After eating and working, I did a tiny bit of Christmas shopping, then got a call from the art-gazers, who invited me to meet them for ice cream at the Marble Slab Creamery. It was a lovely way to spend an afternoon.

    1. It was new to me–at least I don’t remember it being the fountain I saw last time I was there–though I can’t even remember when that was.

  1. Gorgeous photos all … but Margot, well I’m one for the dogs. please tell me you got cake batter ice cream. Should I ever compound it… we should spend a day there

    1. I got half Swiss chocolate and half coffee. It was delicious. I don’t indulge like that often, but when I do, I usually don’t go near anything that says cake, candy, or cookie in my ice cream.

I took lots of dog photos, but this one was my favorite.

  2. Fondue!

Hey, I just read in the paper that Gale Harold was in a motorcycle accident Tuesday. “Swelling on the brain and a fractured shoulder.”

    1. You could be playing the “Maverick” drinking game. In fact, I strongly suggest that you drink all day instead of doing anything like sewing or photographing or posting your designs.

  3. You know, if ever a dog’s name truly suited her, it’s Margot – she truly is the elegant being that name describes!

Beautiful views – thanks for sharing. Hope you’re feeling a little better now.

    1. Thank you. I’m feeling LOTS better.

When we adopted her, she was Margo. It was Timmy (not Tim) who added the “t” to give her a little sophistication and make the name more than just her “foster dog” name.

Sometimes I say the T is for trouble, sometimes for terrific. She’s provided plenty of both over the years, and she’s always a joy. The woman who saved her from being put down, the organization that placed her, and her foster mom are all angels in my eyes.
