For Shannon

You mentioned essential oils in a post. Do you have a Whole Foods Market there? Or a store that sells organic stuff? They often have essential oils. I used to have the BEST supplier here, but she closed her shop. Whole Foods sells a brand, Wyndmere, that I’ve also ordered online. I like all their oils and used them in my practice (when I had one; sorry, Lindsey). But I also really like their blends, most particularly Anxiety Release, Breathe Easier, Digestive Aide, Head Aide, Hormonal Balance, Immune Support, Joyful Spirit, Mentally Sharp, Self Confidence, and Stress Relief. You can check out their web site.

Another really good source you can order from is Gritman. I’ve been pleased with everything I ever got from them.

I’ll have to find and send you the recipe I blended for Tim many years ago to help him with insomnia. The only thing I remember for sure that was in it was myrrh.

And just an FYI: I’m not a fan of spending a lot of money on diffusers and nebulizers, so there are none I endorse, but lots of people do like them.

  1. I love myrth. We don’t have a Whole Foods here, at least not anywhere nearby, but I can order stuff from their web site. I like to fragrance my house with natural oils or candles (too hot in summer) instead of all those flowery plug ins. I use a bit on cotton balls and hide them various places through out the house. Rosemary is my favorite. Frankincense is awesome, too.

When you find that insomnia one, let me know. I am sleeping much better these days, but an extra bonus certainly won’t hurt.

    Thank you for the info.

  2. i wasn’t aware that you were a holistic witch doctor! 😉

everything i’ve ever smelled that was ‘aromatherapy’ stinks, in my opinion. do they all pretty much smell the same?

are there any specifically that are good for depression?

    1. C’mon, you SAW the chicken foot photos!

Check out this page. It looks pretty good to me, especially that aromatic bath blend. Just as an FYI, sandalwood and rose are REALLY expensive essntial oils. I never buy rose, and I use sandalwood sparingly because it’s just so costly.

      1. ahh, good point…i shoulda known that normal folks don’t keep chicken feet around…

i will fo’ sho’ check out that page tho. i’m not too keen on the expensive stuff, but it may be worth it.

        thanks 🙂

  3. Sigh… I miss bringing you the biznass. Sadly, you have been replaced by Donatto… OH, Donatto. That man is amazing… not as amazing as you, of course, but a girl has to work what she can get her hands on (Yay! a pun for me, too!).

    1. Where’s Donatto? I NEED HIM. Actually, I really DO need to use that gift certificate. A massage sounds WONDERFUL. Hmmm, pre-flight or post-flight, I wonder…

      1. Donatto is at the River Oaks Massage Envy. So you can use your certificate to rent him out so to speak. He is this large, line-backer of a man with a ponytail… slightly intimidating at first. But, oh, he is the sweetest, gentlest giant ever. And he’ll kick your ass with his deep tissue work.
