One of my favorite activities is to watch squirrels. They are so cute!
I enjoy it, too. Even when they taunt the dogs. It gives the dogs exercise.
Do they taunt the dogs by running by the window when your doggies are inside? Smokey used to maker her “ack-ack-ack-ack!” sound when she was perching by a window and she saw a plump squirrel or bird. What caused Smokey to go absolutely nuts was when she saw a cat come into HER yard. The first time I heard my baby growl was when another cat came onto the porch.
Oddly, when they’re inside, they pay no attention to the squirrels, though they like to stare out the windows and must see them. But there are neighborhood cats who often walk across the top of our fence or lie on our cool porch, and this makes the dogs INSANE.
Like them, Smokey was defending her territory!

I’m always leaving things for squirrels to eat instead of birds. Everyone feeds those fly-by-night fair-feathered friends. But squirrels stick around all year.
Thanks, Chris. Here, we can’t feed the birds because it all goes to rats and squirrels. The problem with feeding squirrels is that they begin to expect it. Then, if you don’t, they can be quite bitchy about it.
I’ll always like them, though, being a bit bitchy myself.
If you look closely you can see the fleas leaping from his mangy little hide.
LOL. Then at least, for once, he’s not in our yard.
