A most special day
I loved you even before the November 12 that you came into our lives, when you were known as Goose. And I have loved and adored you every day since then. Happy birthday, Daniel.

At some home during my growing up years, we had this floor! And coppertone appliances. But we never had pink cabinets. Or a child with red pants and a white belt.
Thank You
Surprise Santa
Santa came to The Compound early this year disguised as Timothy J. Lambert. Two droughts this year pretty much finished off my yard, so I’ve been focusing on keeping the flowerbeds and the potted stuff alive. After some raking, bagging leaves, and repotting and shifting plants, this is a section of the yard behind the house the way it looked on Monday night:
Then, PRESTO! This is how it looks now (in the rain), after Tim gave us an early Christmas present and had someone come sod the yard.
Next up: The removal of that tree. Sorry, Tree Huggers, though I’m one of you, this tree keeps killing my yard and providing safe haven and highway for rats, who need to relocate to some other family’s tree.

Herb Corner at The Compound.
Tonight: Lots of water. For me. With a side of Aleve.
Ear Worm Alert
I can’t get this song out of my head.
You’re welcome.
