shouldn’t that soldier be wearing a scarf (what you civilians might call an “ascot” — warriors don’t wear ascots) with that open neck shirt? blue for infantry, i believe.

Now that you mention it, I remember the blue scarf! Clearly, someone was derelict in teaching this young soldier how to wear a uniform. I wonder if his boots were shined.
