New Year’s Eve, 2020

In 2016, I bought this sketch book because I was desperately seeking something creative to do. I began using it for pages I colored that could be removed from their original books and taped inside this one.

Today, I used up the last page in the book. There are 81 colored pieces from 2016 to 2020, and here’s the final one.

I feel certain that no one is sad to say goodbye to this year. People have lost loved ones, jobs, homes. No one’s life has been unchanged, even if some are affected less than others.

I’ve already picked out my next sketchbook to fill beginning in 2021. I want to look forward, not backward.

Yesterday, I got this alert on my phone and screen-capped it.

We will be compliant in our bubble tonight–Tom, Tim, Debby, and me–eating, playing cards, and trash talking. We will be thankful to have one another and miss all the people we love not only far away, but locally who we can’t see.

And we will be wishing you all a brilliant, better year as 2021 comes to meet us.

Take care. Be safe. You are loved. I’ll talk to you tomorrow on An Aries Knows.
