    1. I see it as taking the good world of childhood and making it bad by forcing children to grow up too fast. I keep thinking of all these clips I see of girls who are being stage-parented–and little girls wearing high heels and makeup, not as costumes in play, but as if they’re miniature women.

      The only job of a child should be childhood. There are impoverished and war-torn countries where the atrocities committed against children are beyond all comprehension. So certainly where there is peace and abundance, children shouldn’t have their childhoods stolen.

      I was trying to sum all that up in the few words pulled from the poetry box.
