30 Days of Creativity: Days 29 and 30

I went by Edwards Cinema at Greenway Plaza in Houston just before midnight on Tuesday. I wanted to see how many people were waiting to get into the six theaters that were showing Eclipse for the first time. I talked to some of the people standing in line and they were really excited. It was a more diverse audience than I was expecting–plenty of guys, and they didn’t look like they were forced to see the movie. There were also some tired parents. Mostly, there were people of all ages who looked happy to be there. Whether you hate the movies and books or love them, it’s fun to see people excited and having a good time.

ETA 2022: I created a little video for all of this, but the site who hosted it deleted it. Oh, well.

Hope you’ve enjoyed my contributions to 30 Days of Creativity. I’ve had fun participating.

  1. WOW! I like the first image there!

A girl still living in the town where I went to high school said that they were also showing Twilight – and there were people who started lining up at 4pm … and this is a teeny tiny town. I was reminded of when Indiana Jones opened there, and EVERYONE went to the theater to see it, and what a good time it was to be in a crowd with friends ( okay I also knew almost everyone there … ) waiting for the movie, it was so much fun… So I imagine things at the Apollo in Princeton Illinois was also pretty exciting… Another one of my friends went and tweeted the event also fun … Her theory was the boys were there to pick up girls. No matter what one thinks of the books, I think that these sort of events are nothing but fun.

    1. Thanks!

Someone told a mutual friend on FB that she went to a theater where they watched Twilight and New Moon before Eclipse. A triple header!

  2. Image and video both amazing. I’m impressed at your video-making skills. They’re mad.

I’m (slightly) tempted to see if I could convince to go see this tomorrow – it’s Canada Day here, but the theatres of open. Although it might still be too full of squee for us.

Mostly for the tent scene. Wherein the slash writes itself.
