    1. Thanks, Lisa. I feel like I should be spending Mother’s Day with YOU, as in years past.

      My face clearly expresses, “What the hell are you doing?” I’m sure my brother was thrilled to sit next to my dolls. At least he got to torment the cat. My sister is all pretty and sweet, undoubtedly because her hero is taking the photo.

    After mom died, I went through a lot of the family pics to find some of her when I was very young, and you know… there weren’t as many as there should have been. Turns out mom took most of the pictures, and was rarely caught in front of the camera.

    1. That’s ALWAYS the way. Poor moms.

      I do love these old photos, and I wonder if having so few of them makes them all the more precious. Since practically every waking moment of a current child’s life seems to be documented by someone, do you think they’ll appreciate their childhood photos with the same bittersweet intensity?
