I LOL’d.
I thought long and hard before posting this today. After reading Greg’s recent posts, it seems like NOLA has turned a post-Katrina corner and feels more like her old self. I didn’t want to dredge up the past. Then I realized that this painting by George Rodrigue epitomizes one of my favorite things about art and people: A powerful statement can have a sense of humor.

My last night in Charleston, there was an empty store front which was shining white, shining white against the rain soaked pavement. Why do the good ones pop out at me when I don’t have my camera?

Again and again, I remind myself to take my camera every time I leave the house. That paid off for me big time yesterday.
