    1. You’re welcome. I know people like me are disappointed that they didn’t adopt from a shelter or a rescue organization, but the First Family has promised to make a sizable contribution to one. Meanwhile, the Obamas kept their campaign promise to their daughters, who will only benefit from the love and care of a dog.

It’s your imagination. He has white hair on his paws, and that, along with the reflection on the floor (man, I’d LOVE to have floors that clean!) are creating an optical illusion. I say this mostly because Bo seems like he’d be more of a whiskey–neat–drinker.

        OIC… uh…. I think… LOL

I know what you mean, it takes lots of work to get floors that clean, and then the rain and mud somehow collects in little circular mounds, from the doorway to wherever…

  1. I saw this photo on the news and I was all, “Aww… I love that!” And Portuguese Water Dog is one of my favorite breeds. I’m so happy for all of them, Bo included. 🙂 This made me smile, glad you posted it.

      1. Whoa! I didn’t post a link because I thought for sure you were already reading that blog. I’m kind-of getting addicted to it. And now? I wish I was an official White House photographer… That would be awesome.

    1. aw, thank you for sending me that way too.

they seem to be the most genuine family! and bo’s white socks? goodness…doesn’t get much cuter!

      1. Right? When I saw some news clips of our Prez doing the Easter thing, his interactions with the kids were so genuine. Not “playing it up for his public” kind of thing. I really like him and his family.

        1. Did you see the video of him reading “Where the Wild Things Are?” At the end, one of the little kids was evidently scared, and he reassured him. Cracked me up. He’s a total dad.

    1. Tom told me part of the reason for Bo’s selection is that one of the girls has allergies, and Portuguese water dogs, like poodles, are good for people with allergies. Otherwise, I agree Renee could have been a contender!

    1. You’re welcome. And “freedom” and “purpose” are good words for that photo.

There’s a slideshow here of other presidents and their dogs, which for some reason my computer keeps stalling on. I’ll have to try to see it via another search engine, but it might work for you.

      1. Oh thank you! (It works fine for me . . . )

How interesting that so many dogs have had a home in the White House . . . and the names are wonderful! Even Fido!!!

“They” say that people get to look like their dogs and I guess, on the whole it’s true . . . but I’m not sure about Barack and Bo (yet!).

        Thanks again! *hug*
