Button Sunday

Back in my youth, when I thought about taking my degree in English and hieing my butt to law school, it was for one reason. I wanted to work in mediation and/or arbitration.

I’ve never regretted not going to law school, but Alternative Dispute Resolution is still a field for which I think I’m well suited. If there’s ever been a case I wish I could be part of mediating, it’s the one between Mattel (Barbie, Diva Starz, Flava, My Scene) and MGA (Bratz). I’ve read so much about this case that I dream about it. Though I’ve been vocal about my distaste for Bratz, it would be so much fun to make Mattel and MGA both come out winners.

Oh, well. I’ll just remind myself that:

Tom got the Barbie garland up Saturday night. As Tim would say:

Almost all of those are gifts from Lynne. A few are from other people or are my exchanges when I got duplicates. They are all from Hallmark.

  1. This is totally the solution to my Star Trek/Star Wars ornament display dilemma. I must get a garland.

It’s their never-changing gazes, I think. Eyes are also windows to the soul-less. (Though, mind you, I’m a believer that our imagination can give soul to the inanimate.)

  2. The redhead in the black afternoon dress carrying the white organza hat is h-h-hot. : )

I ought to know the name of that outfit, but I’m drawing a blank right now.

      1. Thank you! It’s gorgeous. Do you have one? I can’t remember if you do or not… the only thing I know for sure you have is the vintage red velveteen coat and hat among others. : )

        1. No, I don’t think I have that. I haven’t looked at my clothes in a long time. I actually played with my Barbies, so most of the outfits are worn/damaged.

  3. I’m going to put your pix on my stick & print out in color at work. When I see these things in shops I always wish I knew someone to buy them for.
Not to say that I’ll suddenly be sending you package, but in the spring when I start going into antique & secondhand shops, I will look for something special.
