Hump Day Happy

You guys didn’t even notice that I neglected you last week, did you? SHOW HUMP DAY HAPPY SOME LOVE.

Why I’m happy: I have made progress on my LJ Runway Monday Final Collection due sometime in October. I have returned my corrected galley pages for A COVENTRY WEDDING. I am slowly beating my insomnia and getting sleep again. My camera is home, and I have returned Lindsey’s to her unharmed.

Still, I’m always game for more things to be happy about; are you? If so, please give me a page number between 1 and 611, and another number between 1 and 25, and I’ll ask the little handcrafted goat who came home with me from the Smoky Mountains to clamber through this book and find your happiness.

The Happiness Goat is not affiliated with LiveJournal mascot Frank the Goat, Billy Goats Gruff, or any Capricorn I know. Maybe.

    1. Ha! I didn’t read this before I gave you your answer. I knew that’s what you were doing. Did you save ALL of the page numbers with waffles on them that I randomly found?

    1. Hump Day Happy IS my life! Actually, last week, my sister and I were sightseeing in the mountains, shopping in art stores, and stuffing ourselves from a food buffet. THIS week, your answer is:

      “slide rules”

(Now if my friend Lynne had gotten that, it would have made her happy, because she still has the slide rule her father used in his work. Is there an old slide rule in your life? Do people still use slide rules, I wonder?)

        1. That’s just crazy talk. Right now, you could be making cookies in honor of Jim’s birthday that’s coming up in a few days. And sending them to ME, of course.

    1. “squirrels in reckless treetop chases”

(This one is happy for Sophie and Phoebe, too! Speaking of–did you ever decide about the puppy?)

      1. That’s a very happy one for the girls.
I decided against a puppy right now. 2 dogs are really all I need. Of course, need and want are 2 different things. 🙂
I did look at the springer rescue site last night, and there are 2 springers in a town about 2 miles from me—but, again, I decided that 2 dogs are enough.

    1. You may, and you’re welcome. It’s:

      “Iowa City, Iowa”

You can meet Lisa there! Be sure to go by and see your counterparts at the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. =)

          1. Hey!
I see that Monday he’s going to be having a reading of his new book at the Prairie Lights Bookstore in Ia City. (You’ll have to google, I’m not gonna link.) (I guess I didn’t know that he has a new book coming out.)
Come on over, David, I’ll call in sick to work and we’ll head down there. That gives me plenty of time to think about shirts. 🙂

        Oh sweet irony.
