Crazy Weather Chat for Lisa

I haven’t been very lucky lately in catching Old Faithful at the right time for eruptions. However, I just went there to check on the temperature. It’s like Opposite World! It’s always colder at Yellowstone than anywhere. But now, while all of y’all are freezing, it’s a balmy fifty degrees there. Enough to lure the buffalo into roaming… or at least sunbathing.

  1. BIG sigh….
That was one of the nice things about living out there. Sure it got cold early, but then the Chinook winds would blow up several times a winter and it would get warm and melt all the snow, so you never had the snow piling up on previous snow like you do here.

  2. So pretty! When I was a kid we used to go there several times a year, and now I haven’t been in so long that I can’t remember what it looks like. My parents bought land in Red Lodge (that came with the most hideous metal mobile home that my mom painted lime green and covered with flowers, but that’s a whole other story). I need to take my kids sometime.

Weather wise, we’ve been in the high 60’s the last few days. I keep telling Rod it’s because we bought a plow, and now the snow gods hate us.

    1. Before my brain fell out on the floor making me forget things, I meant to say that Red Lodge is right before you go over the Beartooth Highway (really scary road) that takes you to one of Yellowstone’s entrances.

      1. I liked Red Lodge. We went there to ski sometimes–not too crowded, nice long bunny hill for me to get warmed up on until I was ready to go down other runs. =)
