Sorry, Lindsey

I should have taken a photo of the palmetto bug carcass I just moved from the garage to the trash. But y’all would have just thought we got a fourth dog at The Compound. HUGE!

And it’s definitely breeding season, because one flew in fast and low at four a.m. and barely missed my face. Which is not to say that palmetto bugs breed with my face, but that only the females fly and only during breeding season.

Bitches.

  1. We’re officially in a fight… and I may have to break up with you over this, Cochrane… why do you have ruin such a good thing with your damn, giant tree roach stories (after I just ate lunch, too)?!

  2. Are palmetto bugs and Box elder bugs the same thing?
Here in the midwest we get these ladybug type things, that are black and red and are just as annoying. They come in droves when they mate, millions actually. Its creepy. They don’t really DO anything, but just are. And when you squash the little buggers they stink. Ew.

  3. Holy crap. That’s it, I’m officially never leaving Canada. I can deal with wasps and bees and anything else, but a freaking huge bug diving at my face? No. Thank. You.

  4. bugs

Ladybugs are benefical. They eat aphids and other bad bugs. they won’t hurt you.

Palmetto bugs, tree roaches, or whatever PC name you want to give the nasty buggers are only benefical when they are terrorizing Becky-Bob….
