Nothing like backtracking

What happened to “I’ll fire anyone who leaked the name…”

AP: WASHINGTON (July 18) – President Bush said Monday that if anyone in his administration committed a crime in connection with the public leak of the identity of an undercover CIA operative, that person will ”no longer work in my administration.” At the same time, Bush again sidestepped a question on the role of his top political adviser, Karl Rove, in the matter.

  1. I would not be at all surprised to find out that Bush knew all along and possibly encouraged the leak, since he was so gung-ho about WMD’s. He’s such an ass.

    1. Of course he knew. They just thought it would go away or could be managed, and it hasn’t been because…well, because it was WRONG. But mostly because Prince Phillip kissed Princess Aurora and the kingdom began to wake up and the reporters thought, “Hey, aren’t we supposed to ask hard questions now and then?”

  2. My guess is that this will be the Bush administration’s version of “I did not have sex with that woman.” This is not the last time we’ll hear it. I hate politics. Ya know…all the fingerpointing and mudslinging will end once I’m queen and everyone simply bows to me and does my benevolent will.
