Oh, NOW I get it

That crazy Mercury went retrograde today and doesn’t go direct until November 6.

This is an excellent time to finish things, but not so great for starting them.

    1. I know you’re trying to lure me into a “Who loves Daffy more?” pissing contest. You think I’ll send you a Moleskine with a nifty Daffy sticker inside the front cover, don’t you?

      Tricky…

  1. Here is your horoscope according to Free Will Astrology

I’m not necessarily recommending that you read Stanely Seigel’s book The Patient Who Cured His Therapist. But I do think you should regard the title as a suggestive metaphor for your immediate future. It’s possible that you’ll be helped by a person you’ve been helping, or be given gifts by person to whom you’ve given gifts. Could it be that you’ll be healed by someone you imagine you’re superior to, or taught a beautiful lesson by someone you don’t understand? Meditate on the ways you might be the beneficiary of a role reversal.

I don’t know what it has to do with a sunflower cake.

    1. I don’t know what it has to do with a sunflower cake either. However, the cake was moist and delicious, and I tried to convince Lynne that she should borrow the pan and bake and decorate another one so we can see how it’s SUPPOSED to be done.

Unfortunately, she has known me too many years and easily evades my schemes.

  2. Actually it doesn’t go retro till 11PM CDT tonight. However, it’s been in its shadow for about a week. Check your batteries and don’t buy any electronics while it’s retro.
    Capricorn advice ;-))

        1. Yes, I know well the Pisces sensitivity. My ram hooves have trampled on it enough times in my life inadvertently to remind me to avoid doing it deliberately.

  3. Oh god, it gets worse?
    Last two days…
Son fell and broke his wrist.
Daughter accidently ran over the cat. No more cat.
    Dog is sick.
    And the dryer died.
don’t even want to know what’s coming next.

    1. I’m very sorry about your cat, and about all the other misfortunes.

No, Mercury retrograde doesn’t make it worse, I don’t think. Based on my own past experience, I just don’t buy electronics or begin new projects while it’s in retrograde.

As a habitually bad finisher, I see Mercury in retrograde as an opportunity to complete things I’ve started. This may be the only time my Aries nature reminds me to slow down and do that. And just knowing there will be weird electrical stuff happening makes me not get all stressed when it does, because I reassure myself that it’ll pass in less than a month.
