Lindsey and Rhonda are probably already sunstruck and mai tai-logged on the beach in Florida, but their trip works out well for The Compounders because we have…SUGAR!
We couldn’t decide where Sugar would sleep, so we put her bed in the house and her crate in Tim’s apartment. Everyone was over here when The Brides left, and Tim thought Sugar could use some calm time, so he took her back to his apartment with Rex. I went over later to do something. Usually, when I go in, if Rex is upstairs with Tim, he may come to the top of the stairs and look down at me. He may even come downstairs to snoop into what I’m doing.
But oh, not Sugar. When I unlocked the door and went in, she barked ferociously and ran to the top of the stairs to let me know YOU DID NOT GET MY PERMISSION TO ENTER AND I AM GUARDING THE MAN, THE HISSING CAT, AND THE OVERLY-FRIENDLY DOG WHO DOESN’T SEEM TO KNOW HIS JOB.
Rex was a little shocked to find out that part of his job is guarding Tim and their home from me. I’m sure Sugar will whip him into shape in no time, which is really going to cut into my stalking activities.
She’s already training Margot and Guinness, too. Though they usually react minimally when Tim goes outside with Rex for the last time at night and the first time in the morningafternoon, not so last night and today.
ANOTHER DOG, THERE’S ANOTHER DOG ON THE COMPOUND GROUNDS, LOOK, LOOK, LOOK!
Tom was thrilled to be awakened to that loud news at about three in the morning.
I figure Lindsey and Rhonda will check in to LiveJournal to see how Sugar’s doing, and Tim will be able to post more about that than I can. But in one of his posts, Mark talked about how good it is when a friend says, “I wish you were here.” Here’s what today’s Compound Canines have to say to Mark and in honor of all friends and friendship:
Thank you, Rhonda and Lindsey, for entrusting us with Sugar, who’s such a sweetheart. She’s doing just fine.
Awwwwwwwww Sugar is so cute! So are all the babies at The Compound. I especially love the billboard. Wish I did live closer…just to hang out.
What she said. I
wantneed dog time. Those dogs are speaking my language. That bag of chips is, too. Those things are good.
Oh! We miss her so much! Did we forget to tell you what a good guard dog she is? Oops. 😉 She’s all bark. I’m glad that she seems to be adjusting okay. You guys rock for taking care of her this week. You do realize that we want her back, right? =)
Um, you want her back? But you don’t know how CUTE she was today on the couch with Tim and the other dogs. Are you SURE you want her back?
Pictures to come…
“… AND THE OVERLY-FRIENDLY DOG WHO DOESN’T SEEM TO KNOW HIS JOB.”
Bless him!
They’re all gorgeous!

People with dogs in their lives are fortunate people. Thanks!
