Just a few photos to show that I’m trying to nurture the little bit of earth that’s been entrusted to me–or at least add a few small efforts to all the work over the years from Tom, Tim, James, Lynne, my mother, Kathy S, Lindsey, Rhonda, Steve V, Princess Patti, Sarena, and other friends. I’m so inept at gardening that at The Compound, it takes a village.
Good luck with your gardening. I think the second picture is Star Jasmine. We had a beautiful one of those right outside our back door, but it died in the drought last year. Darn water restrictions. I’ve lost a couple of favourites. :/
Both yellow jasmine and star jasmine are planted in that bed, and they bloom at different times, giving us extra months of flowers.
We just cleared out the flower bed in front of the house, so I may try to get that into shape.
Good luck!
Beautiful, Becky. Think how great everything will look in a month or so when they fill in!
I’ve just started with my planting, with some “assistance” from Alfie and Mabel, who have declared caladium the tastiest bulb.
If everything’s still alive in a month or so…you don’t know my track record.
I wouldn’t dare plant anything else in the bed where the azaleas are, since behind those bushes has become Pixie’s Playground, where Margot and Lynne’s Minute and Paco like to play chase with her.
Looks beautiful!
Of course now that you’ve mentioned your track record, we’ll expect regular updates! 🙂
Ha. We’ll see. And thanks!
What were the yellow flowers in your ‘sunshine’ picture? I like them. If that were here in Iowa, they’d be dandelions.
I believe those are plains coreopsis. Aren’t they beautiful?
What gorgeous colours!
As someone with no green fingers at all, I envy anyone who can make even a tiny plot look good!
