Reason 56 why I’ll never be a contestant on Survivor

I told Tim the next time he opened a tin of sardines I was willing to taste one.

He just issued the challenge.

I broke off a chunk, put it in my mouth, and could easily have spit that thing across the house. I forced myself to chew and swallow it, but never again.

Oh, the humanity.

        1. Yep, the blander ones. My preferences, too. Though I will eat tuna (NEVER HOT!), salmon, and swordfish, too. And I love shrimp and crab cakes or deviled crab.

      1. oh, nothing too weird. jen said i should try some raw sushi, so i did. i didn’t hate it, but i don’t want it again.

is that the weirdest you’ve eaten?

        1. I’ve eaten alligator and snails. Haven’t tried snake yet. Oh, and I like squid (as long as it’s battered and fried). I don’t think I could try octopus though.

    1. It does seem to have something of a weight-loss plan built in to it. However, I don’t think they’d move all the water challenges to a giant swimming pool for me.

    1. I’m planning to taste herring and mackerel, too. I already know I can tolerate anchovies as long as they’re ground up in a salad. I’ll taste most any food once.

      1. Exactly!!! It seems like such a healthy thing to eat, and it’d be great to have a whole new range of food options… but it’s so disgustingly fishy. If I buy fish I always ask the person serving me if it has a fishy taste cos if it does it’ll kill me.
