Sorry to be so late, but today has been a little hectic at The Compound. I did buy myself an hour or so of blissful calm by handing out raw marrow bones to the hounds (as pictured above). This made them very, very happy. I’d give each of you a raw marrow bone, too, if I could. Since I can’t, if you’ll comment with a page number between 1 and 611, and another number between 1 and 25, I’ll just find something in this book for you. Bon appetit!
66 and 6, please…
🙂
“smelling roasted sweet corn as you drive”
I want my raw marrow bone and won’t settle for anything less. *is intransigent* >:(

Cracking self up.

“gratefulness”
Dash would like 611 number 22
I would like 422 number 12
For Dash:
Did we already do “corn-husking and pumpkin-rolling?” I think Dash is playing it safe now.
For you:
“cottage friend potatoes”
Dash has never had pumpkin rolling … as long pumpkin chasing is involved as well …I have no idea what a cottage friend potato is … but I love spuds
“Cottage friend potatoes” is what I type when I’m NOT wearing my glasses and mean to type “cottage fried potatoes.” Sadly, I know you’d have liked my typo much better if it had been “cottage fiend potatoes.”
5, 6 (pick up sticks. 😉
“English-style breakfasts and dinners in a riverside dining room”
Oh hell yeah. 😉
page 435
item 11
“pachysandra instead of grass”
Okay, had to look THAT up. I never knew that was its name.
Will it grow on my driveway?
The only references I find to it are north of Houston. If you are interested in a ground cover, use the runners of your jasmin. That is a sure grower in that area. it will require some maintenance to stay confined – but most ground covers are like that
wheel of fish!
