A story about a young woman and her defaced Volkswagen showed how one person can turn something hurtful directed at her into something positive for others.
Her story made me happy. If you want something to make you happy, take a chance on one of 14,000 things.
You give me a page number from 1 to 612 and another number between 1 and 30, and I’ll give you something to be happy about from this book. Who knows, you may be the person who picks “L.L. Bean jeans.”
5/29
“miniature artichokes”
Or perhaps the right person serving you artichoke fritters:
Can I have page 500, item # 3, please? : )
(Whatever it is, it’s going to beat the hell out of those crummy jeans. I just know it. My psychic kneecap is itching.)
“oil boom towns”
Hmmmm….
Very, very happy. Thank you.
(Cool story, in the VW link. That kid in Florida who wrote that woman, and counted the word being used 76 times in one day at his school… crazy. Thanks for posting that.)
You’re welcome. In return, please bail me out of Internet jail when someone spots his/her stolen photo in my comments.
hahahahaa!!
I think I might be too busy doing time, in the next cell. : )
Warning: I adore you, but I’m not being anybody’s bitch to get you cigarettes.
Ha! I know a certain song I’m sworn never to reveal that I could sing day-in and day-out that might change your mind.
pg 80 number 14,please
“H.M.S. Pinafore (the movie)”
Romance, music, sailors…
What’s not to love?
Page 18 number 7 for Dashly
Page 141 number 1 for me
Dash gets:
“a silly bubble of anticipation”
You get:
“the fogging of bathroom mirrors”
Don’t scoff. Look at what’s reflected behind you.
I gasp the happiest gasp… I know someone who is having sweet dreams
Was the mirror fogged before or after she saw who was behind her?
319, 10 please!
By the way, I’m loving A Coventry Christmas but am nearly finished. Is there a sequel on the way? 🙂
“delicatessens”
Here’s artist Terry Gardiner’s “Daiquiri Deli” in New Orleans. (Readers interested in more of Gardiner’s whimsical paintings of New Orleans should visit this site.)
Thank you for letting me know you’re reading and enjoying A Coventry Christmas. Rumor has it the next Coventry novel will be out in January of 2009.
Delicatessens are pretty cool!
So glad there’ll be a sequel, I feel as if I somehow know these people and want to know more about what happens to them. 🙂
By the way very good article
too frickin’ early, I screwed that up and it won’t delete.
I will take page 31 number 2 please.
“Noah’s Ark”
I’d have totally loved one of these play sets when I was a kid.
Oooh, I made a good choice. That play set looks like a great imagination toy. I would have loved it too.
Page 8, Number 20.
“pasta with prosciutto and peas”
(Didn’t I do this one before?)
When’s lunch?!?
Page 300, number 10.
“door decorations for each season”
Here is my current one. I got it for next to nothing at T.J. Maxx. It’s supposed to be for St. Patrick’s Day, but I’m so fond of it that it can stay up until another inexpensive one strikes my fancy. Considering how infrequently I shop, that could be 2011.
I went into your T.J. Maxx one of the last mornings I was in Houston. Your’s has a lot better shit in it than our’s does.
It’s hit or miss–especially since Marshall’s moved into the same center. Though lately, Marshall’s hasn’t had much to tempt me.
Very nice. I also like the fragrant ones that are made out of eucalyptus or herbs. The herbal ones are especially nice on kitchen doors.
We have no door decorations, though. In our neighborhood, someone would probably swipe it.
