Late Start, Early Spring

I’m getting a late start today because as so often happens when I think my schedule is under control, my body decides otherwise. Though I didn’t get a migraine, I got the vision problems that come with one. That means lying down until I can see to function–not to mention drive–again.

But now Tom’s dinner is ready, I can see, and it’s time to get moving. I’m taking a plate with me to the hospital so I can eat with Tim this evening. Tom won’t thank me for the lima beans because he doesn’t like them, and Tim won’t thank me for eating them in front of him because he loves them as much as I do. Maybe evil from Greg and Rhonda is starting to seep through my Shield of Goodness.

While I’ve been busy elsewhere, an early spring has come to The Compound. I leave you with this photo to thank you for your continued good wishes for all of us here, especially Tim. And behind the cut are a few more to add to a virtual garden for you.

  1. Greg and Rhonda

That seems so weird to see in writing, as it is my sister’s name, and for some Southern reason, we were always ‘Greg and Rhonda”–never “Rhonda and Greg.”

  2. I get migrains too. And the vision crap is so annoying. I try to explain it by saying it looks like tying to look through wavey water. My vision has been wiggly. Moving in and out all wonky like with spots added in for the past few days on and off. I’ve been keep excedrin migraine in business all week. Between that and the TOPAMAX I’ve been popping pills all day long.

I have taste for fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravey. Anyone else?

    1. Oh, the vision crap–it’s like you’re seeing on two different planes and you can’t make it come together. When I used to have severe migraines, the screwy vision would be accompanied by the headache, the nausea, and numbness of my entire side. The first time it ever happened–I think I was fourteen–it scared the crap out of me. I thought I was dying!

That almost never happens anymore. I don’t even get monthly migraines like I once did. This is the advantage of celebrating my thirty-fifth birthday more than a few times. 😉 I feel so much compassion for people with migraines–you have my utmost sympathy.

    1. Just remember to reread Greg’s post about his arrival at The Compound. Not the part where TIm’s lung collapsed, but the security he had to get through.

And he didn’t even mention the Glock, did he?

But hey, the limas are worth it, truly.

      1. excuse me I’m southern and a woman … I’ll charm way through. If not I was once married to a Marine – he trained me to 43 ways to kill a man with my bare hands.

I’ll do almost anything for lima beans ….
