I rarely use the middle burner on my stove. Last night, probably a couple of hours after we ate dinner, Tom was walking toward the kitchen and I said, “I keep thinking I smell gas. Could you check the stove?” Apparently, when I thought I turned the burner off, I really only turned it all the way down. The flame went out, but the gas kept going.
I went to Tim’s later to watch a movie. When I came home, Tom and the dogs were sleeping. At least I hoped that was just sleep, because the gas smell was still ridiculously strong. I opened all the windows and within a few minutes, the smell was finally gone.
Good thing No. 1: I didn’t blow up my house.
Good thing No. 2: Tom and the dogs seem fine today.
Good thing No. 3: The AC is still off, and wonderful breezes have been blowing through my house since last night.
Whew!! Glad everything was okay, Becky!
Me, too, thanks!
Glad everything is well … but I have to say it. Becky has gas.
Thanks! And I hope you never lose the fourteen-year-old boy within.
14? more like 10.
whoa!
thank goodness all was well!
try to keep the danger to a minimum around the compound.
For you, I will. =)
heh
good then!
Great, now I have to worry about you, too? 🙂
Yes, please. 😉
Good thing No. 3: The AC is still off, and wonderful breezes have been blowing through my house since last night.
What a coincidence! The AC is still off in our house, too! 😀
Ha! What’s the temperature there? I see that it’s 19 at Yellowstone.
It’s, like, 66 and breezy, but a nice breeze. The girls and I just got back from a very nice walk in the dark. Now that I have a couple of days off, however, it’s supposed to go into the 40’s and be
moistrainy.Just remember these three words … nuke-it, baby, nuke-it! The AC hasn’t been on here for the last five or six weeks. Temps have been in the mid to upper 70’s during the day.
But that’s all supposed to end tomorrow when the wind and rain arrives. Not to worry, I added my winter blanket to the bed a few weeks back. Boy how I love pulling the covers over my head and snuggling in each morning.
I think that if it weren’t for microwave popcorn, I wouldn’t need a microwave at all. That’s why I still have my mother’s original microwave oven that she got from Abigail Adams or Dolly Madison (I often confuse my First Ladies).
You so silly.
“Good
timesthings, goodtimesthings.”You know it.
*heaves sigh of relief*
Stay safe.
I’ll try. =)
