Current Photo Friday theme: Sand
I shot this on film from Venice Beach looking toward the Santa Monica Pier in California in 1998. My favorite ocean and a view I loved so much that I wrote it into a pivotal scene in my work in progress. The pier was different for my characters in 1974, but the vibe was the same, and the sand on the beach is timeless.
Time is like a handful of sand ā the tighter you grasp it, the faster it runs through your fingers.
“… like sands through an hourglass, so are the days of our lives …” which is either a cue for moody elevator music or the direct consequence if two teenagers trying to pass a grade school class kidnap people from history to get them out of an exam in an Excellent Adventure via a magic phone booth. Cur air guitars.
In other news, I really like how that photo of that sandy beach makes me go into a daydream.
Daydreaming is better, to me, than nightdreaming. =)
