To boldly go…

I’m sorry to post only a link, but an essay by actor William Shatner, written in response to his Blue Origin flight into space (at age ninety!), is something I found moving and thought provoking. I don’t want to violate copyright, so if you’re interested, you can read the article here. If you read it, let me know what you think.

  1. Ithink that your opinion of the article depends on the state of mind of the person who is reading it. There are times, especially these days when I feel that life at least my life is the Hindenburg and there are a lot of people who feel like that live an invisible life that no one sees. And floating above it all seems like the most beautiful thing money can pay for but people who feel that usually can’t afford space travel. There are other times when I sit in the park and hear kids laugh and watch the ducks and think it’s a wonderful place. Except if the ducks are attacking me. It happens.
