This plate is an old one that belonged to my mother. I love cardinals, as did she. The appearance of a cardinal is said to be a message from a departed loved one. Having lost several beloved people in past Aprils, I hope this one may help you hear words of love from someone you’ve lost.
We don’t have cardinals here, of course. They are such pretty birds.
I was happy to give cardinals space on the collage I did for my most recent sketchbook cover. Every year, we have at least one couple here at the Hall, though I have no idea if they’re the same birds. I’m always glad to see them but am rarely quick enough to get good photos of them.
