Mood: Monday

In order to avoid saying all the things I want to say about public figures who are complete assholes, or what we value in our society, or why math and science are not THAT FUCKING HARD, I shall present to you this coloring book that, if 2015 me had known about 2020, I would have bought five years ago. Right now it’s listed on Amazon at $914.95. NOT a typo, and that’s one thing that made me laugh today, anyway.

Be safe. Stay home when you can; mask when you can’t. As someone I respect reminded people a couple of weeks ago, “YOU ARE NECESSARY.”

  1. White House: ‘The science should not stand in the way’ of reopening schools

Moments ago, White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany defended Trump’s push to reopen schools, despite concerns about the spread of coronavirus in the classroom.

“And when he says open, he means open and full, kids being able to attend each and every day at their school,” McEnany noted furing her White House briefing.

“The science should not stand in the way of this,” McEnany said, adding moments later, “The science is on our side here.”

Was that a double F or F++ in 3rd grade?

    1. I susspect they want the whole country too sick to vote in November, since a certain political mob insists no-one should be allowed to mail votes in.

    2. I was just exchanging messages with the father of seven-year-old twins. He calls their spread of misinformation that will kill people manslaughter.

They don’t give a shit about kids in cages on our border. Or kids stolen from their parents and placed…who knows where and ending up dead, sick, sexually abused, and traumatized. I don’t know why I’d expect them to care about any children.

I just can’t understand the mindset of PARENTS who would agree to do this. There is no way in hell a child of mine would return to school in the middle of a pandemic that keeps getting worse because of our failure to listen to the most simple, basic practices that could have prevented so much of the nightmare.

      1. Manslaughter, is a good word. “Think of the Children!*”

The world changed with a drop of a dime. Schools now by Internet, and we have to make the Internet available to absolutely everyone. I’d rather be in a classroom environment, just like I miss the person-to-person colaborative nature of what was my work environment now replaced with Internet and Phones.

        *some restrictions apply.

        1. Now we all have to keep the distance and keep the children safe from a virus, wear masks in uncomfortable weather, dodge crowds, and at the same time life in solitary confinement. To have some TV person say we must have schools as the world was before the virus, I agree, manslaughter or egging him on like that girl did on the phone to the guy trying to kill himself in his car.

Schools can be germ warfare, especially after Fall or Spring Break. If the kids get sick and die, the parents can’t get outside to vote.
