Transport Thursday!

Garrett is one of my favorite rescue dogs. He had a health scare when he tested distemper positive, meaning he had to remain in Houston longer than normal. For a while, his foster dad had to go out of town, so Garrett stayed at the clinic. It broke my heart because I wanted him to be in a home so much. In this photo, that’s Christine, one of the Animal Care Techs, holding him at transport. In the time before his foster father could take him back, she reassured me every time I asked that she was giving him lots of extra attention and love. I don’t know to explain how much peace of mind she gave me, and I will never forget her kindness to Garrett or to me.

Garrett’s distemper negative now and on his way to his new life. Thanks to his foster dad, our rescue group, and especially Christine, he knows what it’s like to be loved and will recognize it when he feels it again. Happy, happy life, Garrett!
