Courtesy of Barrie Jean Borich’s phone, Paul Lisicky was caught reading his Foolish Hearts story “Nude Beach” at Queertopia II at AWP Seattle at the beginning of the month.
I first heard Paul read from his novel Lawnboy around 1998, and I have been hooked ever since on his way of packing so much story into a beautiful economy of language. If you ever get the opportunity to hear him read, take it. He’ll probably make you laugh–the kind of laugh with tears in it. He knows how to explore and express the human heart.
