Button Sunday

This is from Lynne’s button collection and is from her days of going to Junior Achievement as a youngster. One time I went to a JA party with her and won a door prize. And as proof that you can find EVERY DAMN THING IMAGINABLE on the Internet, even though I long ago got rid of my prize, there’s one for sale on The Pink Picker’s Etsy site. Just in case you can’t live without a bit of vintage craftiness with a light that FLICKERS.

  1. I have never seen such a lamp before! It’s a shame the real 12 oz size can could never support a light bulb without a heavy dose of concrete inside it. hmmm…

    1. I don’t know about the one in the photo, but mine actually was a 12 oz. can. It was weighed down by whatever kit was necessary for the light to screw into, and maybe sand, though I don’t remember it being particularly heavy. It also had a small round base. The light bulb was blue and flickered, so it may have been lower wattage, but I do recall it as being a regular-sized bulb. I’m not certain, but I think the lamps were made by JA teens to sell.
