Anubis!

Two or three weeks ago when I was on an errand run, I spotted this in the Galleria area. How handsome is he? LOVE.

In looking for info about the statue online, I found this from last November. I wish I’d seen him then, but I guess that’s what I get for avoiding the Galleria during the Christmas season.

Theron Linscombe, right, looks back at the Santa hat he and Adonay Vasquez, partially hidden, put on top of the 25-foot, 7-ton replica of the ancient god Anubis that was at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, and transported to Post Oak Boulevard for the holiday season, Monday, Nov. 21, 2011, in Houston. 1. You know I rarely watch anything until it’s many seasons in and either canceled or about to be. Let’s hope Netflix sticks around for a long time!

                1. toddlers and tiaras just put their new season up … I am thrilled, before anyone says it, I know what kind of crap reality tv EVERYONE watches, so don’t judge me!

                  1. I’d say the worst reality TV I watch is America’s Next Top Model. If this season isn’t better than last season, I’m done.

            1. I don’t know. There are definitely some emotional vampires. And a father who has made me shriek at my monitor on occasion.

  1. he was installed just before the Thanksgiving tree-lighting. I watched them from my office window. i miss him now that he is gone.

Lila did NOT like him. I took her down by it and she was crawling up my head as we got close, so we didn’t go farther.

i did not get a picture of him at all.

    1. Aw, he’s gone? I’m glad I caught him in time. I have three photos of him if you’d like one.

Not surprised about Lila. Seems like exactly the kind of thing to creep out a kid. Probably why I like him so much, mwah ha ha.

  2. when you looked down on it from up-on-high you didn’t realize just how big it was.

Hey, there is a dead grassy patch where he was. So his essence lingers.
