Clad in all that wood, it’s a wonder it survived. It must be one of the oldest houses in the area?
Yes. Built in 1893. In a later post, I gave some of its history–it was occupied by one of the founding families of the Heights, an area that was eventually annexed by Houston. It’s one of the few inner Loop neighborhoods that now has strict codes for what can be built there, because they want to maintain the integrity of the era.
