Great music, great cause

Yesterday, Tom and I had the distinct pleasure of joining Tim and a crowd of good people at the Porch Swing Pub in the Heights for a Scout’s Honor fundraiser.

The Belle Curves, a Tennessee-based duo who started playing together when they were twelve and thirteen, reunited for a two-hour concert. Good weather, great music, friendly restaurant (buckets of crawfish by the pound for those who eat ’em), and cute dogs!

Who could ask for a better day and a better cause? Four out of four rescued dogs at The Compound agree. They also like this sign:

To see what Tim and I saw, you can look at our photos in this Scout’s Honor Flickr group. If you ever want to donate money to an organization that does amazing things for animals (just last week, they found homes for THIRTY dogs and cats!), their information is on the Scout’s Honor link above.

Thanks, Laura and Carol for the fantastic music, and to the Porch Swing Pub for hosting the event. Finally, a HUGE thanks to the Scout’s Honor volunteers who make these events so much fun and who work tirelessly on behalf of our friends with paws.
