The intro takes too much time, but once the runway show begins–
THOSE SHOES!
Some amazing couture from Alexander McQueen.

I’m amazed nobody fell over.
I know!
the dresses look like they were made of butterfly wings, and I really don’t mean that in a creepy way … but the shoes scared me
I kept think cockroaches on stilts. or praying mantises. that one model who looked extremely angry about what they did to her hair and put on her feet.
The shoes were a bit of wow/shock factor for me. The collection overall was ho-hum except for a few stand-out pieces.
I’ve often wondered if the producers of Project Runway would ever try to put one on over the judges. As in have a well known established designer send an item out on PR under the guise that one of the PR designers crafted it and see if Heidi, Michael, & Nina rip it to shreds.
By the way, I love this SS2010 collection.

Pure theater. Like Marika, I see wings, too… I’m reminded of how watching The Silence of the Lambs feels, repellant, gorgeous and difficult to take my eyes off of. And it’s got moth wings throughout.
Clothing and shoes for the beautiful Grace Joneses and Björks of this world. Is that the plural of Jones? : )
And they said the Chinese were barbaric for binding the feet. Very scary.
