Happy anniversary to Lindsey and Rhonda! Has it really been three years? In your honor, today’s Hump Day Happy assistant is one of the animals you’ve provided–who actually has humps. This camel also reminds me of our happy trip to the Renaissance Festival last year, where we saw this guy.
Anyone needing something to be happy about can comment with a page number between 1 and 611, and another number between 1 and 25, and Mr. Humps will retrieve your answer.
(Is it just me, or do camels always look like they’re smiling?)

“finding the quiet ‘center’ of your life your own way”
573, 22, please.
“doing tai chi outdoors”
I don’t usually, but today I need some small ray of happy.
Page 610 #2 please.
“the clinking of ice in a glass”
And a bonus ray, chosen by me:
“acts of kindness, no matter how small, never being wasted”
A glass that was previously filled with some lovely concotion, like a Midori Sour with a shot of vodka?? Very nice!
Oh thank you for the bonus ray! My cup runneth over!
I’m sure that’s what your glass was filled with! You’re very welcome.
Three years, and the pain of the snubbing is as fresh as if it were yesterday.
Hee hee.
how’s about page 120, #20.
You poor thing–I only hope the adulation and success you enjoy somehow cushion the snubbing. And also:
“a champagne breakfast”
Cool. I’ll just take the champagne and skip the food.
Did you delete your comment from my other post? I only saw it in e-mail, and thus never saw the icon. WHAT WAS IT? (This isn’t one of those, “How do you keep a moron in suspense?” moments, is it?)
I had found a really nice image of Pestilence, and made it into an icon, but it posted as a black square, so I deleted it.
Dang. I’ve still got plans for you for my Halloween post, mister.
We need shirts for Saints and Sinners.
PLEASE don’t tell Lisa. (I’m so glad I don’t wear T-shirts!)
I was thinking of a tasteful Polo.
What flavor edible shirt did you want, Greg?
Please, I’m still waiting for my Iowa hooded sweatshirt,. Harrumph.
Today? I will pass on the book. Today? I don’t need anything else to be happy about. Also? Camels.
If you’re happy, I’m happy.
I just mean that, on my anniversary, I’m happy enough…and I know that event isn’t in your book. Until I steal the book at pencil in our anniversary on a particular page. Then I’ll know what page and item number to request next year. 🙂
I think you’re wise to enjoy this level of anniversary happiness. Because certain numbers from the book could have gotten you “coonskin caps,” and I might have felt compelled to buy you one.
Oh, and put it on a cow.
There’s one looking in my office window right now wearing a sign that says EAT MOR CHIKUN.
I love those Chick Fil A cows.
Did you know Chik-Fil-A is owned by fundamentalists, and none of them are open on Sundays?
Yup, I know the Cathy family story. It’s an interesting one.
I didn’t know that–one opened near my ‘rents, and they love it. My mom told me the story. And it’s right next to the new Olive Garden–they’re in heaven now.
Pour vous…
It’s enchanted! And enchanting.
In return, the camel, unbidden, has found you:
“turquoise umbrellas shading white ironwork tables and chairs”
I like!
The camel is wise.
How bout Page 196, #8
“watching the rain fall”
(I’m doing that right now! And I’m VERY happy I don’t have to be out in it.)
Happy Anniversary to the brides!
Page 349, #12 please.
“colored scents that fill the air”
(You’d NEVER get away with “colored scents” in a fiction writing class.)
page 88, number 21 please!
I guess I always think camels are getting ready to spit.
LOL, they do have that reputation, don’t they? This camel spits out “a baby-powder back rub.”
Camels don’t forget, either. If they spit at you once, they spit at you every time they smell you.
Why are camels so angry and grudge-holding, I wonder?
humpy mamals
455, 13
totally random, I swear! 😉
Re: humpy mamals
And the camel’s totally random find is “fruit salad of fresh wild blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, peaches, and apples.”
Can’t believe I nearly missed it this week – can I please have 421, 21?
This means you can stretch your happiness out to the week’s end! The camel has found you “secondhand books.”
Awesome – couldn’t be better!
Yay!
