….or are you just happy to see me?
My Wienermobile has a first name, it’s O-S-C-A-R.
A couple of times while traveling the roadways of the U.S., Tom and I have happened across the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile. The Wienermobile has been around for seventy years–that’s twice as long as me! Or five times as long as me, if you’re measuring space and not my creative sense of time.
The Wienermobile is driven by Hotdoggers, recently graduated college students who tour it around the country for a year. Dan Duff, a Hotdogger alum, shares an incident with Jon Stewart and the Wienermobile here. You can get a virtual tour of the Wienermobile on this site, and you can follow it on Twitter at http://twitter.com/wienermobile.
Hawaii wants the Wienermobile banned in their state because of a law forbidding advertising on billboards and vehicles. I personally think the Aloha State is in a conspiracy with Armour Hot Dogs and those big kids, little kids, and kids who climb on rocks.
Just thought you might like to know that it crashed into a house in Racine last week. 🙂 *sorry, can’t help but laugh*

I saw that story, but didn’t realize it happened so recently!
I think the hawaiian ban is linked to the folks at SPAM — because really, the wienermobile is way cooler then and Spammobile could ever be.
And how have you happened across the weinermobile – I have never ever seen it
You probably ignored it just like my LJ banner. We saw it once heading to OH and once on the road from AL to TX.
I’ve also seen it when I was alone in a grocery store parking lot in AL.

Somehow that sounds like the start of a novel set in Coventry. ;-}
By the way – I like the new header you have. The font and the flowers are so cute together!
Thanks!
(I change my banner the first of every month–you’ve been ignoring me, haven’t you? ADMIT IT!)
uhmmmmm….. you look pretty today!
Somehow when I see one of today’s Wienermobiles I think of a giant spaceworm. They just don’t have the panache of the original that looked like a hotdog on wheels.
But then today’s hotdogs don’t taste like the one’s I ate at my grandma’s when I was a kid either. Skinless hotdogs just don’t cut the mustard.
do not listen to the old curmudgeon … i love the way weenies taste … hotdooogs
