People who work at home have Mondays, too

How many more people can call me today to take me from a project that I’m enjoying and eagerly trying to finish?

On the other hand… When a dog who’s been dealing with diarrhea all day finally begins puking up undigested raw turkey necks that have been sitting in her stomach for twelve hours, you don’t want to be around. Unfortunately for Tim and me, we are. I took the dining room spew; he’s on porch detail.

Oh–is it dinner time at your house, too? Sorry!

ETA: Round Three. Tom’s turn!

  1. Heh. Just like having kids in the house. Do they disrupt sex, too? Our three cats used to do so. They always assumed they were invited to walk on us, purr loudly, and get high off the positive energy flowing about!

Guh… stupid endearing intuitive pussies. The only thing they were not intuitive about was when to be absent! ;D

  2. I’m so sorry to hear someone is feeling poorly. When Dash spews he comes right to me, and want’s me to rub his back, and then he feels horrible – like he did something wrong. Of course, Dash never spews once … it’s always twice. I hope everyone is feeling better

    1. She’s up to about ten times now. Poor thing. She just ate a half-cup of pumpkin. We’ll see if that stays down. Dr. Tim is on the case.

  3. Poor baby. I hope she’s feeling better by now. (I’m guessing it’s Guinness, since that’s who’s picture we’re seeing.)
As for the interruptive phone calls–you’re a nicer person than I am to answer them. I’d just let the answering machine/voice mail pick them up.

      1. I am SO not a much nicer person than you. Tell me, Night Nurse, if you’re still around. Should I take Guinness to the emergency vet right now? She hasn’t been able to hold anything down all day–water, pumpkin, a tiny bit of olive oil. I think she’s emptied her stomach of any food from 7 a,m, Monday, and suspect there’s some marrow bone blockage in her intestines (she had one on Sunday). I could wait until the morning for her regular vet, but I worry about her getting dehydrated. At less than thirty pounds, that could happen fast, couldn’t it? I want to do what’s best for her.

        1. Sorry I didn’t get back to you sooner. Imagine! I had to do some work!

How is she looking/acting? If she doesn’t seem too bad except for the vomiting, it can probably wait until you see your regular vet in the morning. If she’s getting lethargic, however, it probably would be a good idea to take her in now.

          1. She was lethargic, but she seems a little better now. I just got her to drink a bit of water, and so far she hasn’t thrown it up. (It’s been about ten minutes.)

I think my vet opens at seven, so hopefully she can wait. Just three hours…

  4. I know I’m chiming in late, Becky, but I hope everything is ok. Alfie had a very nasty bout with diarrhea about a month ago and it’s not fun (not for him, and not for me to clean up!). I hope everything is ok.
