I did warn you…

I feel like I’ve just come back from a long journey. These amazing people I had the privilege of watching grow from birth to adults–I get to see not only them for the first time in years, but their children, some of whom I’ve never seen. This has fed my spirit like nothing else in the world ever could, and there is so much more to come tomorrow!

A bit of my joy in photos.

This is my niece Sarah, holding her youngest child, Rome. I still remember the first time I held Sarah–she weighed a little over five pounds. If I were a mean aunt, I’d publish the photo of Sarah making a face at me that I shot just before this one. But I’m a sweet aunt. For now.

This is Sarah’s twin, Gina. She has children jumping on her back and hates to be photographed in her glasses, but look at the sweet smile she’s giving me. Not a rude face like SOME people. Do not, however, be deceived. I could tell you stories about this one… But again: sweet aunt.

This is my brother’s son, Aaron. Lynne has an assignment for him that must remain top secret for now. He has not agreed to this plan. Yet.

Sarah’s oldest child, Camden. Until Friday, I had not seen him since he was a few months old. My heart melted.

Gina’s daughter, Morgan. The last time I saw her, she was about ten days old. I wish I could bottle just a tenth of her personality and take it out whenever I need to chase the blues away. She’s amazing.

Sarah’s middle child, Evan. I was warned that he has been known to bite. WHAT? He’s an angel! Although he does make a noise that prompted me to say, “Mariah Carey called. She wants her note back.”

    1. Aww! Becky’s family is just full of cuteness! Yeah, Becky would be a cool aunt to have.

And yeah, having to wear glasses at such a young age sucks. Who knows what the future holds for him and us? There might come a day where glasses in the conventional sense become a thing of the past.
