You know what? My agent’s birthday is TODAY, not yesterday. My day got a little busy yesterday; I thought I was a day late sending her a birthday e-mail, but I was actually on time, which made me happy.
Meanwhile, I didn’t forget that you might want to be happy, too. If you’d like to know something from among 14,000 things to be happy about:
please give me a page number from 1 to 612 and another number between 1 and 30, and I’ll tell you what the book says. I guess sometimes the answers seem lame, but I’m always hoping they’ll trigger a good memory or a burst of inspiration for the creative among you.
In honor of several birthdays today (liken8an )
I will take page 3 number 5
“the cinema”
It sounds so artsy.
Page 486,#16.
Rick, OH
“sharing ‘I have always wanted to’ stories”
Can I have page 60, item # 30, please? : )
“baby shoes”
Yeesh… I mean, Thanks! : )
What if they’re MY baby shoes?
Oh man– is that you?! Such a stern look!
(Sorry, though… baby shoes spook me.)
You should never have said that. Marika will now send you baby shoes.
Yes, I was a very serious baby. I had a lot to worry about.
(I think that’s an enlarged passport photo. How would YOU have looked if you’d just been told you were about to cross the Atlantic Ocean on a ship at only six months old, hmmmm, Rose?)
God, you must’ve wailed! I bet everybody on board was more than a little enchanted with you, though… stern, wailing babies are like that. : )

Ooh – hump day, I nearly forgot. I’ve got a 4 hour weekend coming up so I really need something to be happy about. Page no 284 no 20 please.
“seeking others’ advice”
As per usual, I am late late late, but could you see me,
page 13, number 13?
You are just like that Jamaican Fortune Telling lady who used to have her own Infomercial show!
I KNEW you were going to say that!
“breadfruit,” which you can learn more about here.
Ah yes, Breadfruit, or as my people call it “Das FruitenLoafen”, which oddly enough I do believe was Mark G Harris’ name when he was in the Mexican Wrestling League. He was known for his trademark skinny ties at the time. He’ll always be my hero……helluva guy.
