Black Friday

No way would I go shopping today. But then, I don’t shop very often anyway, so I don’t think my absence will affect holiday sales too drastically.

As for yesterday, because of markgharris, codyfrizbeejr, samdewinter, and seahorsemystic, we had a full table and reason to be thankful.

A Thanksgiving repast, with cranberry sauce, to make it traditional.

Mmmm, mmmm, Jess can’t wait to dig in.

Over the river and through the woods, grandmothers know what’s good for you.

Is that a baby bump, or did Laura just eat too many bags of BBQ Fritos?

Pay no attention to that turkey, stuffing, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, deviled eggs, green bean casserole, carrots and broccoli, sweet potato casserole, or basket o’ rolls. I just photoshopped those in for people who expected to see a more traditional Thanksgiving table.

A Frito with every pie!

It was a beautiful day with the Green Acres branch of the family. Thanks, Lynne, for hosting us so bountifully.

Seig the Doberman couldn’t be there because he was recovering from surgery. He had a bit of blockage in his tummy–and when I say blockage, think Jaws. The vet removed a rawhide knot, a piece of unidentifiable fabric, a Gatorade bottlecap, a partially chewed soccer ball, and that little Kitner boy. But Seig’s recovering well and should be going home today.

However, the canines represented. Margot and Guinness joined us later in the evening for cards and snacks. Minute and Sparky were there. And Seig’s little sister Sue was there. Um, “little” is maybe not the right word.

That’s an oversized chair, and Sue fills it. But then, she’s petite compared to…

Brother Sam, whose head is larger than the width of Laura’s body. I think he outweighs her by about sixty pounds. Or maybe fifty-eight now that she has the baby bump.

I hope you all are enjoying a lovely holiday or the launch of the annual retail frenzy.
