…scratch….scratch….twitch…scratch….

Apparently between the raucous celebrations of Pride and Independence Day, there’s something I didn’t know about called the Million Mosquito March. I stepped right into it to get these flower photos from the ‘hood. If you don’t WANT a virtual garden, feel free to click on by. But remember that I probably got some weird mosquito-borne illness for you.

(Shouldn’t he be EATING the damn mosquitoes?)

      1. Are they? My Great Plant Guide only shows the petunia in the carpet and mirage series, showing only pinks, whites, yellows, and fuchsia colors. Of course, that doesn’t mean there isn’t purple in there…

        TODD where are you????? lol

    1. Hopefully Lynne will be along soon. She’s my flower person. Lily, firecracker fern, morning glory, don’t know, don’t know, morning glory, lily, lizard.

  1. West Nile virus is what the cool mosquitoes are carrying these days. I think I got it the other evening when we went to the river. 😉
I was out last night snapping pics of my flowers. (Great minds think alike, eh?) I’ll post them when I have more time a little later.
Your pics, of course, are beeeauuuutiful!

    1. Do you all have that too, up there Lisa? We just started hearing about it here in TN. In Florida, of course, West Nile was common. I hate mosquitoes. What is there purpose on this planet anyway?

      1. What’s that line? Something like: If we were to infer God’s preferences by his creations, we’d come to the conclusion he loved stars and beetles.

        Or, mosquitoes.

Lovely garden shots, Becky. I’m going to head outside for some of my own, now – and dodge the mozzies.

            1. I love bats! We had a bat-house in B.C., and my mother was petrified of them, but there were no freaking insects near our house, thank you very much…

      2. Yeah, a couple summers ago we had a guy who was quite sick from it. I don’t think he ever got back to how he was before.
Of course, that wasn’t as bad as the summer we had the guy who got rabies FROM A BAT BITE. Everybody had to get rabies shots that summer. I was lucky, I was gone on vacation while that was going down.

  2. I love your garden! Mosquitos…those couldn’t POSSIBLY be breeding due to all the rain AND all the water collecting in puddles at that construction site. Oh no…not there.

After walking Sugar yesterday afternoon, in her favorite squishy field, I’m sure you won’t be the only one with West Nile Virus.

    1. Maybe we can get a group rate in the hospital. And speaking of breeding, Tim could tell you a story–but it would put Lindsey in the hospital with us.

      1. If it has anything to do with cockroaches breeding in Tim’s bathroom and taking over the planet before coming after ME… then yes, Lindsey would be in the hospital helping you with that group rate.

    1. All I know is, the frogs and lizards are falling down on the job here. Must be on some trendy new diet I don’t know about.

  3. first “i don’t know” is Plumbago the blue ones) I can’t see the yellows well enough to say

second “i don’t know” is Blue Globe Agapanthus. I plant I love, but don’t have in my yard… need to change that…

there are petunias in that purple color, but it is past petunia season in Houston.

  4. Morning glories (love the heavenly blue), lilies (only the red ones bloomed this year) four o’clocks and petunias ()only white) bloom in abundance around here. Iplnted two giant elephant ears (taro root plants) on either side of the front steps, but only one side has started coming up so far. West Nile has really decimated the song birds and robins around here. I’v only seen one robin this year. And I haven’t seen the mocking birds at all. I’m worried about Midge and Pidge catching it.

  5. *sends over calamine lotion*

Sorry for your itchy-ness . . . but the pictures are gorgeous. Especially like the second one with the little pink “bells”.

Thanks. I’ll leave you alone to scratch now . . .
