There are days that just seem like little slices of paradise, and today is one of those. The weather is springlike, and I’ve opened all the windows to let fresh air flow through. Tim is at Green Acres taking care of some things. Because Minute just got spayed and needs to take it easy, he left Rex at The Compound. Even if this makes Margot slightly disgruntled, any day with Rex and my girls is a good time to me. Maybe I’ll get to see Sparky and Minute tonight, too, when Lynne joins us for Survivor night. Dinner is ready and waiting.
A friend got some excellent news this afternoon, and I celebrate that. Although another friend shared some sad news yesterday, after talking to Jim, I’m more hopeful on her behalf than I was. I’m also still happy after the visit with Sugar, Rhonda, and Lindsey last night. I wish every dog in the world could find a good home.
I’m still floating from the e-mail that WHEN YOU DON’T SEE ME satisfied our editor. That’s the kind of news that makes the two projects I’m working on right now a little less daunting. (Yep, Jandy, your namesake is coming along just fine…)
And randomly? From the inside out, Trebor Healey is the SEXIEST man alive–to heck with People Magazine. =)
For Lisa, Mark, Todd, and everyone else who’s tired of snow and cold, here are photos from in and around The Compound that I took while I was doing dog poop patrol today (which Lisa was apparently doing at the same time several states away).
The flowering plant that Tom gave me on some occasion a year or so ago, and Tim planted, is back.
I shot the shamrocks because in less than a month, it’s St. Patrick’s Day. I may not look as Irish as Shannon, but Irish I am.
I also shot some clover so Lisa could enjoy a virtual search for the elusive four-leaf.
Rex and Guinness and dog kisses.
So, so happy to look up at the blooming redbud tree and see dozens of bees.
Even the redbud trunk is heralding spring!
Margot and Rex sunning.
Rose outside Tim’s window.
Rex tells Guinness a secret.
Rex on the move.
Princess Margot takes it all in.
Guinness catching some rays.
Explosion of pink azalea.
White azaleas not quite there yet.
Rex by the lilies.
No, it’s not TIME to go inside yet!
And just for Shannon, a silly shot of the underside of my hair, showing the new color in the sun.
I love all these photos Becky!
You hair color is really nice. I like that it’s so shiny. How do you get it that shiny?
I hope spring comes here soon. It’s been relatively warm, so hopefully, soon, it will be here, too.
Irish women ROCK. 😀
Thank you. I don’t think it is that shiny, I think it’s just the sun.
Spring is on the way!
How could anyone ever tire of pictures of The Compound?
Oh, I’m sure it happens. 😉
Thank you, Becky! I loved all the pictures. Your hair is beautiful, the dogs are beautiful as ever. I could feel the warmth of that sun. I’m envious of your green plants down there. We’re expecting several inches of freezing rain here in the next day and a half, followed by 6-12 inches of snow, so I’m sure I’ll be coming back to these pictures to enjoy the sun (and look for a four leafed clover).
You’re welcome, and thank YOU. Pop into my LJ to see spring any time!
…I want to trade journals with you. And hair. : )
I love your journal; please continue to be an original.
As for my hair… I have way more bad hair days than good ones. And I REALLY need a haircut.
Yesterday was very pretty. I’ll be thinking about it when I’m sitting in a cabin in the pouring rain tomorrow morning – Ick.
WOW… what a gorgeous day!! Thanks for sharing,
–Gary
