Jim and Linwood

Recently, I was working on a poem, and I wanted to find some vintage photos of men with men. I’m not speaking of porn, just men together in earlier times. My search netted me not only exactly the kinds of photos I was looking for, but a new acquaintance with a gifted couple in North Carolina.

Here are are couple of photos I found in the collection of Jim Lux from his web site.

I loved meandering my way through Jim’s entire site, especially looking at pictures and reading about the process of his clay pots, like the one pictured here.

As if Jim’s talent wasn’t enough to engage me, his partner, Linwood, also has a web site, where I got to see some of his wonderful paintings. Here are a couple of my favorites from his site:

Last Train Home

Though I’ve never met Jim and Linwood except through e-mail, like many people I’ve come to know online through the years, we were actually once in the same place at the same time: Washington, D.C. in October of 1996. Hard to believe that Tom, Amy, and I made that trip ten years ago this month. It was magic then, and remains so.

I invite you to explore and enjoy Jim’s and Linwood’s web sites and buy their art!
