We’ve been having thunderstorms for hours (no tornadoes that I know of, though). Margot hates thunder, so she crawled back into the bed this morning while I was making it. Thunder just makes Guinness want to eat, but if Guinness is breathing, she wants to eat.
I have all these packages to mail. I took a shower, dressed, etc., made my grocery list, posted on LJ, while waiting for the rain to slack off. When it did, as quietly as possible, I slipped into Tim’s apartment (I think the rain is extending his and River’s ability to sleep in, which is good, because he was up late writing) and got my luggage caddy and one of Tom’s gifts that I need to exchange (and now I’ll have to do that and wrap it before he reads my LJ, or he’ll know where his presents are stashed).
After I loaded up the packages and was trying to maneuver out the door with them, it began pouring again. I’m not dealing with the post office and grocery store in this mess. See? Even without snow and ice, Houston’s winter weather has its challenges. (I suspect I will get NO sympathy on this one.)
I LOVE thunderstorms! Unless there are tornadoes included, that is.
Even though it’s at least 40 degrees colder here, and Jeff and I just got done shoveling a mountain of snow off the driveway, you do have my sympathy. When we come in, at least we only have to brush our coats off. You (and your packages) could be drenched until you can get home to change clothes.
Rain is why we moved to the other side of the mountains. It’s gorgeous here today, but only 27 degrees, and I am freezing my butt off. I can’t wait to see my driveway again someday under all the ice.
My River; some watchdog!
71 degrees? Your winters are warmer than average summers in this particular state of Australia, so, you’re right, no sympathy at all!
lol…yes, the terible challenges of a rainy 71f…..lol…too cute!
Ah, you Yankees and Midwesterners. How you scoff at us. Much like I scoff at people who complain about being hot in San Diego.
It was like that here last night…it was frightening. I used to love thunderstorms but all I could think last night as tree branches crashed down around the house and the yard filled with water was oh dear God no please no tornadoes or flooding…
