I am a procrastinator, and one of the things I’ve put off doing for eleven months is organizing my photos and putting them in albums. This can get overwhelming when there are a lot of them.
But I did it today, finally, and found photos I’d forgotten ever taking.
Like this one. I love potatoes, though we don’t get together as much as we once did. It’s not their fault; I love them a little too much and had to learn moderation. I think it’s sweet that they send me secret messages letting me know that they still love me.
Isn’t it strange that people who write murder mysteries are the nicest people in the world? Maybe they spend their aggression on their fictitious victims. Here are two absolutely charming Houston authors, Dean James and Julie Wray Herman.
Regarding the Potatos…
Get a life.
Re: Regarding the Potatos…
You just WISH potatoes loved you, too.
Re: Regarding the Potatos…
oh but I HAVE loved them. I’ve loved them long, and I’ve loved them hard.
Ummmmmmm…….Do I dare admit that perhaps the last time I put any of my pictures into albums was probably when the kids were in preschool? (Jeff’s in 8th grade now.) The day my camera quit putting the date on the pics was not a good one-but didn’t help me get them organized any sooner.
Funny you should say this. One reason I started organizing my photos was because my friend L. was always so organized with hers. Way back before you could find these things–like in the late 70s–she ordered photo pages and put them in special 3-ring binders.
I always admired that organization, so in the early-90s, I did the same thing, gathering a lifetime of pictures from different boxes and envelopes and half-hearted attempts at photo albums. About every five years, I go through them and get rid of the ones with people whose names I don’t remember.
So imagine my surprise when I found out that L., who is an even more avid documenter via her camera than I, now has drawers and boxes full of unorganized photos.
It’s almost like when I found out that the reason my cornbread was never as good as hers or my sister’s or my sister-in-law’s is because they were all secretly using mixes.
One of the reasons I love my digital camera is that it dates/organizes them for me, and all I have to do is download them onto a disc and there you go, all I have to do is mark the disc. Plus, I no longer have pictures that didn’t turn out well, but somehow can’t bring myself to pitch.
I love Dean James’ books! Do you know him personally?
…and heart-shaped potatoes…that’s cute in a weird sort of way!!
Yes, I do know him, and he’s a wonderful man. =)
Next time you see him, Becky, please tell him he’s got ardent fans “Down-under”.
Thanks for the author links….although my budget is not too happy with you.
So, my wish list continues to grow……
As long as the potato loves you back then I see nothing wrong at all with this fixation.
