Kraft and the Gay Games

Lately my e-mailbox is full of messages from various organizations asking me to react to some heinous new effort by the intolerant or unjust to further screw up the planet in one way or another. Politically correct overload!

But then… I hear—via Towleroad in this case–of a company that gets targeted for doing a good thing:

Kraft Foods’ sponsorship of the 2006 Gay Games in Chicago is under siege by the American Family Association.

So I called Kraft Foods at 1-800-323-0768 to tell them that I’m grateful for their support of the Gay Games, for standing up for fairness for all people, and for not backing down under the criticism from the American “Family” Association. The woman at Kraft I talked to was so nice and seemed sincerely grateful for the supportive calls.

So even if you’re overloaded with requests to do the right thing, consider all the Kraft products you buy—probably more than you realize if you check out Kraft’s website—and take a few minutes to thank them and remind them that fair and tolerant people spend money, too.

Thanks!

    1. You are too cool. Also, that drawing of you passed out on your keyboard–that was me a few years ago in the corporate world. Too much online time late at night.

I suggest winning the lottery or being left an inheritance by an unknown great aunt. I wish those things had happened to me.
