  1. The lizards must not taste good? I think that my dogs would try and grab them–until they learned differently. Of course, they still haven’t learned that frogs are no good.

    1. I don’t know how they taste, but I can tell you that Pixie is carrying on the tradition begun by our dachshund Pete of chasing those things like a mad dog. Penny, on the other hand, takes a more live-and-let-live approach. She’s chill with the lizards.

    1. It’s the one on the right end of the fence that might get by searchers.

We have several varieties, and these three are green anoles (though here, the one on the far left has darkened to blend in with the fence–they’re called American chameleons for a reason!), which I’m told are usually found higher up. The invasive Cuban brown anoles stay low to the ground. Sometimes when we walk across the yard it looks like the grass is moving as the Cuban lizards run ahead of us. They’re very shy.

We also have skinks in the flower beds and Mediterranean geckos that like to hang out on our porch ceiling.

I won’t touch any of them, but I love watching my mini dinosaurs.

    1. The lizards eat that most abominable of creatures, the roach, so they are aces with me. I am not interested in snakes in the yard, so if I spot one, I’m calling Renee.

  2. Penny is beautiful! And I always did like lizards. 🙂 Not sure if my comment also came out on your Flickr page. And yes I’m only 2 weeks behind on blog reading thanks to horrible ePortfolio assignments.

    1. Thank you. Penny is a silly girl, but we adore her.

I’m behind, too, but not for any reason as worthy as completing school assignments!
