Runway Monday: Sky’s the Limit (PR 12:1)

Lifetime’s Project Runway is back for their twelfth season, and though I wasn’t sure whether I would participate again, I found the lure was too great to resist. On the debut episode, skydivers arrived with the fabric the designers would be using for their unconventional materials challenge: colorful parachutes!

Tim Gunn parachuted into The Compound so I could have fabric.

I kid.

Fortunately, I was able to find ripstop nylon at High Fashion, and with Gail as my model, here’s the look I created. I’m not sure if you’ll be able to see it in these photos, but the fabric does have a faint design of squares.

Shoes and styling by Mattel, of course.

Hope you’ve enjoyed this week’s look. See you next time on the runway!

  1. so much better than the poncho from 6 flags that was auffed … what do you think of some of the new format – I like that they will see things up close now, but there is no way things will be anon, people get too excited when they see their design come down the runway…

Also the sustainable artist … and abuse of the name Timothy and Unicorns.

    1. I like the new format. And it’ll be up to the designers, if they want truly unbiased judging, not to react when they see their designs. I suspect they’ll be coached in that regard.

I know unicorns, and this man is NO unicorn.

        1. I noticed that, too. You’ll get no better lighting from the Becks Studio until PR comes through with some funding.
