Magnetic Poetry 365:190

That poem made me think of this:

and how different Gone With The Wind would have been if Scarlett had understood her heart. Also, for the record in the great debate, I never thought Scarlett was a victim of spousal rape. Possibly because I never see Scarlett as a victim of anyone or anything. Your mileage may vary.

  1. oh I have always thought Scarlett always knew her heart, but was denied. In the end she ended up with her true love. I do love Rhett over Ashley though, and I would agree not rape. I do love that book …

    1. In the end, she was alone. Though an argument could be made that Scarlett was her own true love. 😉

  2. I think Tara was her true love.

God that’s a good book, that you can take so many different things from it … and you know I love those Fontaines and the Calverts

    1. Her love for Tara was one of the things that made Alexandra Ripley’s sequel such a disappointment.
